Gynecologic Oncology Division comprises a specialized team of professionals who are dedicated to preventing, diagnosing, treating, and managing cancers of the female reproductive system. These include cancers of the uterus, ovaries, cervix, endometrium, vagina, and vulva.
 
The JTCC team brings together some of the best gynecologic oncology doctors in NJ, including experts in gynecologic surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, radiology, genetics, and nursing. This specialized approach to treating gynecologic cancers provides patients with the exact type of services they need to battle their specific disease and its physical, emotional, and social side effects. The team holds monthly meetings with the Gynecologic Oncology Tumor Board, where cases are discussed and treatment plans are developed by a multidisciplinary team of specialists. The Gynecologic Oncology Division Team

DONNA MCNAMARA, M.D. 
Co-Chief

Donna McNamara, M.D. specializes in treating women with gynecological malignancies, particularly ovarian cancer. Dr. McNamara has been a member of the Gynecologic Oncology Division since its 2005 inception and brings considerable expertise in the clinical care of patients with gynecologic malignancies.

Prior to joining Hackensack University Medical Center, Dr. McNamara completed the Hematology-Oncology program at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia and the Internal Medicine Residency program at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – Robert Wood Johnson in New Brunswick. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame, IN and completed her medical education at Loyola University of Chicago, IL. Dr. McNamara is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.  Dr. McNamara has an established background in research and has been published in national cancer treatment journals. She maintains professional affiliations with the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Gynecologic Oncology Group, the American Society of Hematology, the American Medical Association (AMA), and is an associate with the American College of Physicians – American Society of Internal Medicine (ACP-ASIM). BABAK LITKOUHI, M.D.

Babak Litkouhi, M.D., is a board-certified gynecologic oncologist specializing in the clinical and surgical care of women with gynecological cancers. Dr. Litkouhi has extensive expertise in both traditional “open” surgery and minimally invasive surgical techniques, including laparoscopic and robotic surgery. 

Dr. Litkouhi joined the John Theurer Cancer Center from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, where he served as an attending in the gynecological oncology division and faculty at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Litkouhi received his medical degree at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York.  After training in obstetrics and gynecology at Yale-New Haven Hospital, he completed his fellowship in gynecological oncology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. 

His research on various topics in cancer medicine has been published in journals such as Gynecologic Oncology, Neoplasia, and Cryobiology, and presented at regional and national medical meetings. He is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and a member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology.  Read Full Bio

AMI VAIDYA, M.D.
Director of Minimally Invasive and Robotic Gynecologic Surgery

Ami Vaidya, M.D.joined the John Theurer Cancer Center team of gynecologic oncology doctors in 2010, bringing a world-class education and more than seven years of gynecological oncology experience.

 
Dr. Vaidya received dual-certifications in gynecologic-oncology and obstetrics-gynecology.  She completed her residency at New York University followed by her fellowship at Harvard Medical School Massachusetts General. She then became the Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
 
Dr. Vaidya has been published in numerous highly-regarded journals, including International Journal of Gynecologic Oncology and Gynecologic Oncology. Her areas of focus have included uterine papillary serous carcinoma and signal transducers and activators in drug-resistant ovarian cancer. Additionally, she has presented her research at a number of medical meetings, including at the annual meeting of the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists. Of her many honors, she received the notable New England Association of Gynecologic Oncologists Fellow Research Award and the New York University Resident Clinical Research Award.  Read full bio.
 
LOREN GODFREY, M.D.
Radiation Oncologist, Gynecologic Oncology

Loren Godfrey, M.D., specializes in the treatment of gynecologic cancers and breast cancer. He is skilled in the use of brachytherapy, in which implanted seeds or thin catheters are used to deliver radiation therapy directly into tumors. His clinical skills include intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT)/image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) to treat gynecologic and head and neck cancers; both low-dose-rate and high-dose-rate gynecologic brachytherapy; and accelerated partial breast irradiation with the Mammosite brachytherapy system. He is also experienced in interstitial brachytherapy for prostate cancer, endobronchial brachytherapy for lung cancer, intracranial brachytherapy for malignant brain tumors, intraoperative radiotherapy for abdomiopelvic cancers, and radioisotope therapies for bone metastases. Deena M. Atieh Graham, M.D.
 Gynecologic Oncology

Deena M. Atieh Graham, M.D. specializes in treating women with breast and gynecologic cancers as well as other solid tumors and blood disorders. She is board certified in medical oncology and hematology as well as internal medicine. Prior to joining John Theurer Cancer Center, Dr. Atieh Graham served as a medical oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for six years.
