Richard J. Rosenbluth, M.D

The Divisions of Geriatric Oncology and Supportive Care and Pain Management are directed by Richard J. Rosenbluth, M.D., a hematologist/medical oncologist with more than 30 years of experience treating patients with cancer and serious blood disorders. Dr. Rosenbluth is principal investigator for The Cancer Center's Clinical Community Oncology Program, the only CCOP in New Jersey. Through CCOP, physicians at major medical centers (such as Hackensack University Medical Center) and community hospitals collaborate with scientists all over the country who are conducting clinical trials supported by the National Cancer Institute (NCI).

As chief of the Division of Geriatric Oncology, Dr. Rosenbluth leads one of the area's only geriatric oncology programs, which focuses on the unique needs and challenges that patients over age 70 with cancer face during their treatment and recovery. The program's multidisciplinary team also includes a geriatrician, a pain management specialist, and a gynecologic oncologist. Dr. Rosenbluth is also medical director of Hackensack University Medical Center's hospice program. Click here for a list of John Theurer Cancer Center clinical trials by Dr. Rosenbluth.
