Michele L. Donato, M.D.
Michele L. Donato, M.D., has been a clinician and researcher in bone marrow and stem cell transplantation for the past 15 years. She completed her fellowship in medical oncology at the renowned M.D. Anderson Cancer Center at the University of Texas, the largest blood and marrow transplantation program in the world. While there Dr. Donato was the transplantation inpatient service chief and the medical director of the collection facility until 2005.
She then brought her expertise in stem cell transplantation and photopheresis (the use of ultraviolet light to engineer disease-fighting T cells to fight autoimmune disorders, including graft-versus-host disease) to The Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center. Dr. Donato is continuing her research in photopheresis and stem cell transplantation to treat ovarian cancer, leukemia and other cancers at The Cancer Center.
