George J. Kaptain, M.D.
George J. Kaptain, M.D., co-chief of the Neurological Oncology Division - Brain & Spine Tumor Institute at the John Theurer Cancer Center is a board certified neuro-surgeon who received both his medical degree and neurosurgical training from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia followed by sub-specialty training in neuro-oncology and skull-base surgery at the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland.
Dr. Kaptain specializes in the surgical treatment of benign and malignant tumors of the brain, spine and skull base. He has published articles in peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Neurosurgery and Neurosurgery and has presented this work at the American Association of Neurosurgeons and the Congress of Neurosurgeons. He is actively engaged in clinical research and in teaching physicians in training from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and the St. Barnabas Medical System.
