Blood and Marrow Stem Cell Transplantation Program

Almost 25 years ago, JTCC launched one of the nation’s pioneering bone marrow transplant centers.

Today JTCC BMT program is one of the top 10 in the US and largest in the Tri-State area. We perform more than 400 BMT annually and almost 6,000 since the program’s inception including both autologous and donor stem cell transplantations.

JTCC has consistently received the highest grades from FACT accreditation for the past 25 years.

Breast Oncology

The Breast Oncology Division, both DSC and NAPBC accredited, is the largest breast oncology program in NJ with over 200 dedicated professionals.

This highly specialized team works together to offer personalized and innovative solutions for every patient.

Our Head and Neck Oncology team brings together experts for ear/nose/throat surgery, maxillofacial surgery, dentistry, plastic and reconstructive surgery together with medical oncology, radiation, imaging, research and nursing to deliver individualized care for each of our patients.

Leukemia

Among the nation’s leading clinical trial centers, JTTC has access to novel therapies including non-chemotherapy options, immunotherapy, cell therapy and stem cell transplantation. Like many cancer types, leukemia requires a complex platform in order to deliver customized treatment in the rapidly changing landscape of Leukemia.

Lymphoma

Our team of four lymphoma dedicated specialists work in conjunction with outstanding hematopathologists, infectious disease specialists, dedicated lymphoma radiologists and radiation oncologists in a multi-disciplinary approach with weekly tumor boards.

In addition, we have access to one of the largest BMT programs in the world, as well as cell therapy/CAR-T cells through our affiliation with the NCI Immunology Program.

Neurological Oncology – The Brain and Spine Institute

Our experts at the JTCC Brain and Spine Institute provide multidisciplinary expertise and care for tumors of the brain - primary or metastatic - along with help in the management of neurological complications of cancer.

The Institute is the only comprehensive brain tumor center in New Jersey with a team of renowned neurosurgeons, radiation oncologists and neuro oncologists.

Research Division

Our Research Division includes both a very strong clinical research program with a dedicated Phase I unit and translational research (David Joseph Jurist Research Center at HUMC) as well as extensive collaboration through JTCC's affiliation with Georgetown University/Lombard Cancer Center in Washington, DC and the Stevens Institute in NJ. In addition, we are opening a comprehensive translational science center in Nutley, NJ, at the previous location of Hoffmann-LaRosche.

Radiation Oncology

The Division of Radiation Oncology offers patients access to some of the most advanced diagnostic and treatment methods for targeted therapies including Helical TomoTherapy, delivering a very sophisticated form of intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) using an integrated system that is unlike any other-- giving patients unparalleled access to accuracy, precision and safety.

TomoTherapy integrates treatment planning, patient positioning, and treatment delivery into one unique system.

Other treatment options include rapid arc IMRT/GRTon two state-of-the art TruBeam linear accelerators, Gamma Knife radiosurgery and fractionated sterotacticradiotherapy. The division also supports breast cancer patients using sentinel lymph node biopsy and breast MRI/Bx.

Skin and Sarcoma – Cutaneous Malignancy Program

Our Skin and Sarcoma Division includes multidisciplinary experts in Mohs surgery, dermatopathology, dermatology, medical oncology, oncologic surgery, radiation oncology, reconstructive surgery and clinical research.

JTCC was part of the landmark study that led to the Food and Drug Administration fast-track approval of Ipilimumab (Yervoy), a breakthrough treatment for metastatic melanoma. We continue to be a center of excellence in pioneering the most advanced treatment approaches.

Thoracic Oncology

Our Thoracic Oncology Division comprises professionals dedicated to preventing, diagnosing, treating and managing lung cancer and other malignancies of the chest, including cancer of the esophagus, thymus and mediastinum. While often called upon to help design treatment plans for patients facing lung cancer, JTCC thoracic cancer expertise also includes the esophagus, thymus, and chest.

Urologic Oncology

The Urologic Oncology Division is dedicated to treating cancers of the genitourinary system, including kidneys, adrenal glands, ureters, bladder, prostate gland, testes and male genitalia.

Our focus has been to minimize long-term complications, particularly using robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy. Our team is constantly involved in clinical trials offering new options, including novel therapies such as biological agents and checkpoint inhibitors for patients with GU malignancies.
