I often heard people say that they were told not to eat any “white” foods. Surely we all know that foods of deep intense color are filled with lots of nutritional benefits. We all face challenges in our lives, but it’s how we deal with them that defines us. Whether our troubles are health-related, financial, or linked to relationships or loss, every one of us encounters difficulties. I’ve been told that I have a positive attitude towards life and have been asked from where I derive my spirit and how I view my glass as half full.

The week of May 6th was national Employee Appreciation Week. The caring and hard work I see everyday at our cancer center makes me believe that this is one of the most important weeks of the year. It is a time when we can all take a moment to recognize our staff for their extraordinary efforts.

The contributions of each nurse, researcher, laboratory professional, psychosocial expert, nutritionist, pharmacist, patient navigator, medical assistant, and administrative assistant have helped us become one of the nation’s top 50 cancer centers.
