Last week, John Theurer Cancer Center hosted its first Women’s Oncology Conference for the Generalist and Gynecologist. Primary care physicians and OBGYN’s are often responsible for the initial diagnosis of cancerous and pre-cancerous conditions. Our goal was to update our colleagues as to some of the special considerations we take when evaluating and taking care of patients with women’s cancers.

Breast Cancer Support Group

Did you ever wonder what food to eat or what food to avoid during treatment for breast cancer? What will keep you healthy after treatment? Does BMI matter?

Rebecca Hirsch, MS, RD, Outpatient Oncology Dietician, will address these questions on May 9 at the Hope is in Your Hands Breast Cancer Support Group. The group meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month in the 4th floor conference room in the JTCC from 7-8:30 p.m.
